There Is A House Here is director Alan Zweig's own fish-out-of-water story — the fish being Zweig himself, an urban Jewish filmmaker stepping into a culture he doesn't understand: the Inuit communities of the high Arctic, still living with the damage of colonization.

Zweig had spent years emailing candidly with Inuk heavy-metal musician Lucie Idlout, and yet still couldn't grasp why Canada's Indigenous people hadn't simply "gotten over" the wounds of colonialism.

With Lucie as his guide, Zweig travels to Nunavut — a place that, by his own admission, frightens him — hoping to have his skepticism challenged and to bring some real answers back to his fellow, equally uninformed, countrymen.
